"Scottish Burns Night" 18th January 2013

Mayo is preparing for a unique night of Scottish culture as Knock Counselling Centre celebrates the birth of Robert Burns, Scotland’s national poet. The “Burns Supper” will take place in Café le Chéile, Knock Shrine on Friday 18th January in memory of the Scottish Bard who wrote poems and songs such as Auld Lang Syne, My Love is like a Red Red Rose and A Fond Kiss. Proceeds from the evening will go towards suicide prevention initiatives in 2013.

Fiona McCarthy, Director of Knock Counselling Centre, explained “A Burns supper is a unique occasion with the haggis taking centre stage, usually to the sound of the bagpipes. There will be special guests, traditional Scottish food, poetry, songs and music from Scotland and Ireland. Whilst there is a certain formality to the event, the most important part of a Burns supper is that everyone has fun”.

Tickets are €35 (includes 3 course meal and entertainment) and are available from Knock Counselling Centre at 09493 75032.
