Knock Museum - Special Commemorative Exhibition

Knock Museum are hosting a special exhibition to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Papal Visit to Knock in 1979. It includes original film footage of the day in Knock featuring many local people, the Vestments worn by Pope John Paul II while celebrating Mass in Knock, the Papal Chair, gifts presented by the Pope and souvenirs and photographs of that very historic day. The exhibition also includes local memories of the event and audio recordings of the sermon delivered by Pope John Paul II on that day which includes his now famous words: ‘Here I am at the goal of my journey to Ireland – the Shrine of Our Lady at Knock’.
The exhibition will be officially opened on Wednesday 30 September at 12 noon by Monsignor Quinn and all are welcome to attend. It will run for the month of October and the museum is open daily from 10-6pm.
