Knock Fest 2010
Well the festival is over but the fire remains.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended, took part, delivered talks and workshops and thank you to Elation for making the weekend so brilliant
Over the weekend we had 500 young people attend the festival, we heard talks by Dr. Andrew O Connell who spoke of the challenge to being a Catholic in a time of rapid technological and scientific progress. We also had workshops on drum, dance, music and clay & pottery. Sr. Helen Prejean delivered two talks and a workshop, in her talk 'faith in action' Sr. Helen spoke of answering the call in life. "We are born into mystery, we die in mystery and we spend our lives trying to figure it our' she said encouraging young people to volunteer their time freely in order to find their call-a call to compassion-saying 'do not be afraid, get out and do it'.
I hope people that attended will take something from the festival and be back next year with two more!
The atmostphere in the chill out marquee was relaxed and welcoming. The weekend overall was one to be remembered.
"It was great!! Countin down till next year already!!" says one festival goer.
"I had a brilliant time at the Youth festival. I will definitely be back again next year" said another.
